Mining farms worth over half a billion rubles were seized in Dagestan

Employees of the Russian Federal Security Service in the Republic of Dagestan have stopped the work of several mining farms illegally connected to the power grid. TASS reports, citing the press service of the regional agency.

During the search, law enforcement officers seized 4,343 ASIC-mainers with a total value of over 500 million rubles.

One of the farms functioned on the territory of the trolleybus park in Makhachkala. In the Kizlyar district, the company "Elektron" organized the operation of a mining hotel for 3,000 devices, paying for electricity at the tariff for individuals. Another mining-hotel was arranged in the village of Novoe Gadari on the basis of an agricultural complex.

Data: FSS of the Republic of Dagestan.

According to experts, the total amount of electricity consumed illegally was about 8 MWh. Now the equipment is sealed, the security forces needed 13 wagons to store it.

The exact amount of damage will be determined by Dagenergo specialists.

Recall that in November 2021, representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation said that mining is not related to domestic needs, so the electricity consumed by it should not be paid at a reduced rate for the population.

At the end of December, Russian regions received the right to set electricity tariffs for the population depending on consumption volumes, according to amendments to a government decree.

Prior to that, the constituent entities of the Russian Federation had to seek recalculation through the courts.
